City Council officially creates League City Regional Chamber of Commerce Day!

On August 23, the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce gathered at League City’s City Hall for a momentous proclamation.

The City of League City proclaimed August 23 League City Regional Chamber of Commerce Day! This magnificent proclamation was made in honor of your League City Regional Chamber receiving the prestigious recognition as a 4-star accredited Chamber of Commerce by the United States Chamber of Commerce. As you may have read, this distinction is held by only 198 of approximately 7,000 chambers across the country.

“The chambers of commerce of Texas play an indispensable role in advancing the prosperity and growth of the Lone Star State, and the members of the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce may take pride in this national recognition of their exemplary performance,” Mayor Pat Hallisey said in his proclamation. “The city of League City recognizes and congratulates the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce on receiving four-star accreditation from the United States Chamber of Commerce and that all those associated with the organization be extended sincere best wishes for continued success with their important work.”

Your Chamber CEO & President Dewan Clayborn was one of many in attendance for this momentous occasion.

“It’s an honor and a blessing to receive such the prestigious distinction as a four star accredited chamber in just three years of my time as CEO,” Clayborn said. “I’m even more humbled that the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce is not only known nationally but now has a day of honor.”

The chamber’s board of directors were also in attendance, expressing overwhelming excitement at this achievement.

“It is such an honor for The League City Regional Chamber to be recognized and celebrated by the City of League City for this special occasion,” said Kristi Trevino, Financial Advisor at Edward Jones. “As a member of the Board of Directors, I know how much time and effort went into achieving this prestigious 4-Star accreditation and it is only the beginning of the continued commitment our Chamber has to it’s business community!”

League City Councilman Hank Dugie of Kiki Landscaping & Construction emphasized the implications of this momentous proclamation and recognition.

“I’m proud that our chamber is now among the top 2% of chambers worldwide,” Dugie said. “It’s a testament to the hard work of staff and members. A strong chamber of commerce is the sign of a healthy community. I look forward to the continued growth of the local business community.”

This proclamation comes as the chamber reaches record-breaking numbers in membership and events.

“To God be The Glory,” Clayborn said. “Thank you to the City Of League City Government for this proclamation, Mayor Pat Hallisey and Nick Long! Big shout out to all of our board members, chamber members and supporters. The best is yet to come!”
