Leaders are not born. They are grown, and the time is now to become the leader you were always destined to be. On September 7, your League City Regional Chamber will honor 19 graduates of the 2022 Leadership League City class, and we are already gearing up for yet another phenomenal year of Leadership League City! 

But what exactly is Leadership League City? 

Leadership League City is the go-to character building course in the League City and its surrounding regions! The program works to nurture and engage the leadership skills of emerging and current leaders by providing an atmosphere that stimulates and fosters diverse viewpoints, resulting in innovative answers to the critical questions facing our community. 

The program strives to create awareness and to connect leaders with issues; it is not an academic leadership training program. Leadership League City includes community immersion, leadership training, and educating participants in the way of our community and county. Leadership League City offers learning opportunities in an atmosphere that stimulates creative thinking and encourages participants to work together to utilize both new and proven tools to meet the challenges of today and to prepare for tomorrow. 

Here is just a few things this program provides:  

• An awareness of community needs, challenges, and opportunities 

• An opportunity to promote and establish relationships and share resources with other community volunteers and leaders

• The challenge to examine, practice and develop leadership skills and techniques 

This informative cultivating program lasts nine months (January through September) and is exclusively offered to members of the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce. The sessions start with a full day retreat at the Lakewood Yacht Club. The opening retreat is followed by seven one-day sessions from 8:00-4:00 pm with regular breaks covering criminal justice, diversity and inclusion, economic development/infrastructure, health and social services, municipal/county government. The success of each Leadership League class lies in the commitment of each participant not only to the program but also to the class. Therefore, participation and attendance at each session is essential.

Participants missing any of the following will be unable to continue enrollment or graduate from the program: 

• Any portion of the Opening Retreat, County Government, or Ending Retreat 

• More than two one-day sessions or 16 total hours 

Now, Leadership League City 2023 is open for application! The time is now to register and start next year off with the perfect education for all! 

Class sessions are generally scheduled on the first or second Wednesday of each month. A tentative schedule of program dates is enclosed. Tuition for the nine-month program is $900 for League City Regional Chamber members who submit the application before December 15, 2022. All applications that are received after December 15, 2022, will be $1,200. The tuition covers all expenses for the program including transportation, accommodations, and meals for all sessions. Completion of the enclosed application is an important part of the selection process. The Advisory Council will review each application for the Leadership League City with acceptances beginning in mid-December and the completed class confirmed by January 8, 2023. It is important to complete and submit your application via mail, fax, dewan@leaguecitychamber.com or drop off to the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce as soon as you have made the decision to apply. Each year more applicants apply than can be accepted, so please complete, and return your application as soon as possible so that it may be placed in consideration for the Class of 2023. Tuition is due in full within sixty days of receiving acceptance notice or before March 31, 2023, whichever comes first.
