Description
BayTran’s commitment to developing the next generation of transportation and engineering professionals is demonstrated through our CREW (Committee for the Recruitment of an Engineering Workforce) Engineering Challenge and annual Topgolf Education Fundraiser.
This year’s impact includes:
Partnering with five school districts: Dickinson ISD, Pasadena ISD, Clear Creek ISD, Friendswood ISD, and Galveston ISD
Engaging 5–10 student teams per district in a hands-on bridge-building competition simulating real-world infrastructure challenges
Providing industry classroom mentors who guide students through the engineering design and construction process
District-level elimination rounds, with each district advancing their top two teams to compete at Topgolf
Featuring a judged final competition at Topgolf where industry leaders score projects on design, innovation, and structural performance
Awarding scholarships to students on the top three teams
Returning proceeds to each participating district’s Education Foundation, directly reinvesting in local classrooms
Proceeds from the Topgolf Education Fundraiser directly support this program—funding materials, scholarships, and mentorship opportunities—while connecting our members to a meaningful initiative that strengthens our region’s long-term talent pipeline.
